  • Profile: Newborns to five years old, both genders. Some have special needs (HIV).
  • Parent Ages: Parents must be at least 25 years old and at least one parents needs to be at least 21 years older than the child.

  • Travel: One trip, at least one parent must travel. One week in Lesotho, followed by about four days in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In 2007, the government of Lesotho suspended the adoption of children by foreigners. In 2009, Lesotho re-opened to adoption with the United States. Lesotho is not a mmeber of the Hague Adoption Convention.
