Regardless of where you live or where you plan to adopt, you'll need to an adoption home study to show that you are qualified to adopt under the laws of your state. If the thought of opening up your life to a stranger makes you squeamish, you're not alone. People often worry that they will be found ineligible to adopt. In reality, it's very rare for a homestudy to end with a negative recommendation.
